IMPORTANT DICESSION TAKEN BY THE STEWARDS
1. The important decisions taken by the IPA Stewards in their meeting held on 19 July 2011 are given below. These will be effective with immediate effect.
(a) Measure for Increase the Revenue of IPA. The following measures for increase the revenue of IPA for smooth conduct and promotion of polo have been approved :-
(i) Corpus Fee. The corpus fee for conducting polo by clubs have been increased as under:-
Cat ‘A’ Centres. : Rs. 60,000/- per week
Cat ‘B’ Centres : Rs. 30,000/- lumpsum.
(ii) One IPA Hoarding at all Polo Grounds. To raise sponsorship for the IPA and to promote polo in the country, IPA will put up one hoarding at the polo grounds at all centres. All efforts will be made to ensure that the hoarding will not clash with the interest of the club’s main sponsors.
(iii) Annual Fees. The annual fees payable to IPA have been increased as under :-
(aa) Annual Affiliation Fee : Rs. 20,000/- per club
(ab) Annual Playing Member subscription : Rs 1,500/- per player;
(b) Co-ordinating club – Southern Zone. Since OTA Polo Club does not conduct any polo activity in the zone, the Stewards have nominated Agram Riding and Polo Academy as the Co-ordinating club for Southern zone.
(c) Polo Etiquette and Decorum. It has been observed that this year there were numerous instances where players misbehaved with each other and the umpires on the polo field. The Stewards have taken this a very serious view and decided that a circular be sent to all players/clubs to display true spirit of sportsmanship and ensure gentlemanly conduct on the ground. IPA will not tolerate misbehaviour and a stern action will be taken against the defaulting players in the coming season including complete ban from all polo activity for upto one year.
